The visit to this huge decayed castle was the continuation of our trip to Castle Rouge half september 2015.
Actually, there is nearly no info about this place. The building attracts many obscure figures and the local rural youth is having parties to celebrate in it. The castle is a thorn in the side of the local population, not only because of aforementioned items but also because the strong deterioration of the building brings for visitors the necessary risks with them. The local government still isn't able to trace the current owners and for that reason the building has not been demolished.
The castle would have been built in the 19th century by a count and countess who lived there until the middle of the twentieth century. After that, all the history about the building is unknown. It is clearly abandoned for a long time. Trees grow from inside the building through walls and windows. The first floor is almost impassable. The room where the bed is photographed is in such a bad state that you feel deflect the floor beneath your feet. There are large gaps present of more than a meter in diameter. After thorough investigation i have searched all areas of the entire first floor. Only the very back of the property (ie the space above the room with the benches above the collapsed ceiling) I did not dare to enter because this floor in the room bounced too hard!
The building, which once seems to have been of royal class, slowly but surely crumbles and falls apart.....
Update: Around August 2016 people made a start with a renovation of the building. There seems to be a buyer. Given the deplorable state of the property this must be seen as a miracle!
